The Amalfi Coast twists and turns through white pebble beaches, characteristic pergolas and seaside villages crystallized over time.
The Amalfi Coast twists and turns through white pebble beaches, characteristic pergolas and seaside villages crystallized over time.
But this area of Campania coast is above all the triumph of our sea, a blue and infinite universe, cradle of legends and popular stories. And just by slipping under the blue blanket, you can discover unimaginable marine landscapes and the most disparate fauna.
How? Practicing snorkeling, an ideal activity during a holiday on the Amalfi Coast. Just take a snorkel, mask and fins and immerse yourself in an experience able to leave you breathless!
Where to dive into the blue
The Amalfi Coast is famous throughout the world for its naturalistic treasures, so much that UNESCO has elected it a world heritage site: under the sea surface, as on earth, hidden landscapes are, to say the least, spectacular. There are many ideal locations for snorkeling, especially near the rocks, real mines of local flora and fauna.
One of the most amazing areas – a must for snorkeling – is located off Positano, where the seabed is enriched with hidden gems. You can find coves and caves to be explored all along the coasts of Amalfi, Sorrento and Capri.
In particular, we recommend you to stop near the island of Capri where, next to the famous Blue Grotto, sit the Green Grotto and the White Grotto, undisputed paradises for diving on the Amalfi Coast. Here, between the turquoise of the sea and the aquatic plants of a thousand colours, you find yourself in a wonderful picture, suspended between dream and reality.
The Galli islands are another location to mark down on your agenda, as one of the most beautiful spots on the Campania coast, especially if experienced underwater.
Diving and fishing tourism in Positano
Whichever spot you choose to explore, what you’ll find will give you emotions difficult to forget. The depths of the Amalfi Coast are rich in native vegetation and inhabited by fish of different sizes. Among the biggest ones we indicate groupers, octopuses and morays, but you will admire also groups of smaller fish and varieties of blue fish.
Another activity worth trying on the Amalfi Coast is diving. If you are a beginner, rely on expert operators, who will guide you in the most beautiful and suitable locations for your level of preparation, such as Positano Diving Center.
If you prefer not to dive, but you would like to live the sea in its essence, choose a tour on a fishing boat. You will sail along our coasts, admiring closely how the gold of our seas is fished. On board, fishermen and professional operators – such as Positano Fishing Tours – will show you every step of a practice as atavistic as it is fascinating…a truly evocative experience!
Moreover, you could taste the fresh fish while you are lulled by the waves … the authentic taste of the Amalfi Coast.
